JINTY GILL-DAVIS (UK) (ROSECOURT)
I have owned and bred Cocker Spaniels as a small hobby, keeping about six Cockers at any one time.
Currently I own four bitches, all descended form my original bitch, bought in 1964.
with limited means and time, I have had the good fortune to breed two show champions - Rosecourt Reverie (blue roan bitch) and
Startime of Glencora (blue roan dog) the latter of which was exported to Finland and became in addition, a Nordic Champion. I have bred many Cockers
gaining entry to the Stud Book and also have successfully bred English and Welsh Springer Spaniels and Irish Setters.
I trained for ten years with the breed specialist and all rounder Judge, Jimmy Auld (Glencora Cockers and Springers) in my homeland of Scotland.
Reared, presented and handled several Show Champions (both solid and particolour) during this time. For further information see The Cockers Spaniel Club Year Book 2005 Pages 45-53.
Following a family move to England, became a qualified Veterinary Nurse and continued a deep interest in Veterinary work for six years before
joining The Wellcome Foundation as a Veterinary Representative supplying pharmaceutical products to the profession.
Qualified as a Medical Representative durting this time.
Judging experience:
I began judging in 1967 and became a Championship Show Judge of Cocker Spaniels in 1977 and have since then awarded Challenge Certificates
to the breed on twelve occasions, including The Cocker spaniel Club (2001) and Cruft's (2006).
Since the new system for Judges (1998). I have also been passed by The Kennel Club to award Challenge Certificates to American Cocker Spaniels
and English Springer Spaniels and hope in the next few years to be passed for further breeds within the Gundog Group, subject to suitable
invitations to judge at Championship level being received. At open Show level, most other Gundog breeds and several other breeds in other groups are judges including Group and BIS.
Overseas, I have judged Cockers many times under the FCI in Finland, Norway, Russia, Belgium, Netherlands and Germany.
Under The Irish Kennel Club, Green Stars were awarded at the 75th Anniversary Show of The Cocker Spaniel Club of Ireland.
Future engagements currently in Sweden and The Netherlands.
Other Credentials:
Served on the Committee of The Cocker Spaniel Club of Scotland for several years and was their Breed Council representative for some time.
Served on The Cockers Spaniel Club (Parent Club) Committee for nine years fulfilling the role of Judges List Administrator (1998-2007) in addition.
Member of the Stewards Guild and assisting with the running of various dog shows, field trials and working tests here in the midlands.
Currently organise DNA discount clinics for Cocker Spaniels (PRA/FN)
